Des de la profunditat

The meeting of a pianist and an electronic music producer has resulted in a piece with an ecological backdrop and careful staging.

A “prepared piano” is an instrument that has had its sounds altered by placing various elements on or between the strings. A piano of this kind is played by Aruán Ortiz who, in Des de la profunditat, presents a piece he has created himself and plays with the composer and electronic music producer Joan Arnau Pàmies. It is a musical piece about the effects of global warming, performed with the prepared piano, live electronics and other instruments. What do drought, extreme heat and flooding sound like? They will tell you in a concert that features lighting effects by Jordi Mateu.

Plaça Real's Cava de Jazz once again this year joins Barcelona's Grec Festival, with a selection of great artists who, like Aruán Ortiz and Joan Arnau Pàmies, offer us a series of high-quality artistic projects, contemporary creations all with particularly outstanding vocals and accessible to all audiences. Some performances take place in the Jamboree's new Sala 3, a third space in this venue used for live music, dance, small-format theatre, cabaret, exhibitions, conferences and events of all kinds.
