Amb els peus a la Lluna

How to explain why humans felt the need to walk on the Moon, in a show for family audiences? Perhaps by drawing on the dramatic possibilities of opera. That, at least, is what Amb els peus a la Lluna sets out to do in a production that represents first incursion into family opera by the Grec Festival and several leading opera houses. The show makes full use of all the opera’s magical and poetic resources to recreate the emotion of that unique moment, taking as the central character a child who uses his toys to reconstruct the mythical voyage of Apollo XI. Like Humanity itself, the boy’s parents’ reactions will go from misgiving and scepticism to a mounting passion for scientific endeavour.
