Visit to the Sant Adrià de Besòs Incinerator
Visita a la incineradora.png
City of Sand thinks of the city of Barcelona and its history from the scraps, the remnants, the debris. The Sant Adrià incinerator, was the first large plant of its kind to be built in Spain and has a municipal waste incineration capacity of 360 000 a year, a quarter of the waste generated in the metropolitan area. Part of the waste generated by the incinerator, which is ultimately a concentration of the city’s different matter, has been used by David Bestué to produce some of his pieces. This activity involves a visit to the incinerator, accompanied by its technical team, to discover first-hand how it operates.
