Fabra i Coats: Centre d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona celebrates the Night of Museums, when participating venues stay open until night, offering a different way to experience the permanent and temporary exhibitions currently on show, as well as the chance to enjoy different activities, such as family workshops, live performances, and guided tours. This is also a global event, one that started in Berlin in 1997 and is now celebrated in around 120 European cities each year to celebrate the International Museum Day, on May 18th.
The museum is going to be open to 1h. Guided tour at 19:30 h to the exhibitions Archive Cabanyal. In the Memory of the Place and If it rains like this, let it pour!, and at 20:30 h the Live Action No Fita by Joana Capella.
No fita is an expression that refers to a practice that has no specific objective or projected result. Within a productive space, a body prepares to dance while listening to a playlist of music that is part of its research process.
The action is accompanied by an internal document that the artist wrote during the process of conceptualising the action, which also brings together fragments taken from readings that make up the conceptual body of the project.
