Work to improve road surfaces in Via Júlia
Surfacing work in the section of Via Júlia between Pl. Francesc Layret and Via Favència concludes on Sunday, 21 April. During the weekend, the road will be closed to traffic on the ascending side. The work is part of the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan, part of the #PlaEndreça. This pilot project uses a new type of asphalt made from recycled waste from iron production and tyre dust.
Nou Barris is immersed in the work to improve road surfaces in Via Júlia, between Pl. Francesc Layret and Via Favència. The work is being carried out as part of the new Comprehensive Maintenance Plan and includes three new aspects in terms of sustainability. Firstly, the fact that 100% of the dry materials are recycled, coming from the iron production industry. Secondly, the mix includes tyre dust, giving this waste material a use, and finally, the mix is produced at 20ºC below the usual temperature, representing savings in energy and CO2 emissions.
The work is being carried out in different stages, with the following disruptions to mobility:
- 13 and 14 April: closed to traffic on the descending side
- 20 and 21 April: closed to traffic on the ascending side
As a consequence of the work, vehicles will be diverted as shown on this map. The parking area will be out of operation while the work lasts.
All the necessary measures will be taken to minimise the inconvenience the work may cause to local residents.
