She has a degree in Law and Economics and a PHD in Public Sector Economics from the University of Barcelona (UB). Since 1993 she is a professor in the Department of Economics at the UB, where she teaches classes related to the economics of culture and cultural policies. She is the author of the report on cultural policy in Spain included in the Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends and president of the European Association of Cultural Researchers. She is also coordinator of the Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Gender Studies: Cultures, Societies and Policies. Author of numerous articles, book chapters and scientific publications on different aspects related to cultural policy and the economics of culture, she has published part of her research in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Cultural Economics, the International Journal of Cultural Policy, the European Journal of Cultural Studies or the European Journal of Women's Studies.
