Unpredictable sonorous journey at Molino
An experimental jazz band from Northern Europe proposes concerts that melt jazz, psychedelic rock and noise.
Whether you like psychedelia, are interested in the strangest and most experimental forms of jazz or are one of those spectators or spectators fascinated by noise as a form of music... you have an unmissable date at Molino, a renewed venue in Barcelona that on 13 April is hosting Fire!, a band from Northern Europe with a long history of musical experimentation.
In fact, this is a superband, that is to say, a musical group made up of great musicians who also have their own successful musical careers and who have each recorded, in their own band, well-known albums on the experimental sound scene in Northern Europe. They are Swedish Mats Gustafsson (saxophone), Johan Berthling (bass) and Andreas Werlin (drums). Do they sound familiar? Maybe you saw them perform a few years ago at L'Auditori.
They united their musical destinies in 2008 with Fire!, a proposal with which they have developed a new vision of improvised music that fuses influences of free jazz, psychedelic rock and noise. They managed to position themselves at the forefront of the European jazz avant-garde, although this label was still too short for an indescribable music that fuses free jazz, psychedelia and even drone and punk.
Creative freedom is the norm in this band, experts like few others in improvised music. At Molino they will propose to the audience an intense sonic journey that we don't know where it will end, but that will certainly defy any musical convention. Do you like experimentation and want to make a radical commitment to these sounds? Then they are waiting for you with open arms.
If you don't want to miss the avant-garde sounds of the Fire!, come to Molino, but first check the website of this musical team for all the information about the concert.
