Ten years of the best short plays in Catalonia

On 7 and 8 June, the Pindoles Festival celebrates an edition with a wide range of short plays that will take place at the Castell de Montjuïc.

Twelve performances of different artistic disciplines will come to life in the different spaces of the fortress of the Catalan capital. This selection includes eight unpublished works co-produced by the festival, three works premiered in previous editions and a guest piece from the 15m2 Festival. Festival Píndoles presents 15-minute plays, in unique spaces and with reduced seating capacity. Next Friday and Saturday, don't miss this event of reference in short theatre.

The programme has been created through an open and anonymous call for entries, with the aim of giving visibility to new talent and promoting equal opportunities. The committee has selected eight unpublished text, dance and multidisciplinary plays, which will be performed for the first time during the festival. This year's proposals have been written, directed or performed by Irene Hernanz, Aida Picón, Uri Callau, Martí Costa, Emili Corral, Ariadna Grau, Francisca Mujica and the company La Confiança Teatre.

The guest piece of the Festival 15m2 is Doma, by the choreographer and performer Andrea El Ameri, a solo that explores the analysis of the trauma that heteropatriarchal society generates in women. The programme also includes three works premiered in previous editions of the festival: Hem perdut la flama, by Martí Gallén Muñoz; RIP (Rest in Pis), by Sílvia Navarro; and Rodeo Road, by David Bo

In addition, you can enjoy a gastronomic area that will be set to the music of DJ BeMa.

Throughout these years, the Festival Píndoles has programmed 142 plays, has brought short theatre to more than 100 municipalities in the territory -thanks to the tour that comes out of the festival-, and has exhibited a great diversity of renowned artists such as Lara Díaz, Sílvia Navarro, Irene Minovas, Roc Esquius, Núria Deulofeu, Jaume Viñas, Albert Salazar or Clara Manyós, among others. In 2021, it started a line of support for creation in order to encourage new playwrights and new talents and, this year, 2024, eight proposals have been selected.
If you don't want to miss the tenth edition of the short-format performing arts event, come to Castell de Montjuïc on 7 and 8 June. The festival will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight and the ticket will allow access to all the performances that day. The ticket will cost €15 at the box office and €12 in advance. To buy it, you can do it from the Festival Píndoles website.
