The sound universe of Carles Viarnès, at L’Auditori

The musician presents his electronic and keyboard project in a performance that forms part of the Sit Back cycle.

A musician born in 1975 and with an exceptional musical training, he is exploring the paths of electronic and contemporary music with a sound project that draws cinematic and hypnotic landscapes. Don't you know him yet? He'll be at L’Auditori, in a performance on 26 April that you shouldn't miss if you like experimentation and musical freedom.

L'Auditori's Sit Back cycle brings the Lepant Street team into contact with the main players on the city's music scene. The proposals are always of an experimental nature, such as those we have already seen this season: from Oso Leone and Tarta Relena to Niño de Elche.

Now it's the turn of Carles Viarnès, a musician with a solid training that has gone through the Montserrat choir school and the Barcelona Conservatory of Music, including instruments such as the piano and the bassoon, as well as music theory, harmony and composition.

For some time now, he has been one of the freest voices on the Catalan music scene and, in recent years, he has often been seen at major music festivals such as Sónar, Eufònic, Embassa't and Primavera Sound. He has already performed at the Palau de la Música and now it is L’Auditori that opens its doors to experimental music, free and with a large dose of experimentation.

Do you like Max Richter? Are you followers of the compositions of experimental musicians like Arvo Pärt? Then you will be fascinated by the different and always hypnotic sounds produced by Viarnès, a musician who combines his keyboard with a hyperorgan (a tube organ equipped with MIDI technology), to which sequencers, synthesizers and various other elements are added.

It has a touch of minimalism, but also of contemporary music and electronica. To listen to it is to immerse oneself in a universe of sound that is both collapsing and evocative, which will give you the opportunity to adopt a contemplative attitude and to lower, for a while, the revolutions of your life.

If you want to know what the free and evocative compositions of Carles Viarnès sound like, come and listen to his fusion of minimalism, electronics, experimentation and improvisation at L’Auditori and live a contemplative experience that will take you away from the world for a while.
