Outdoor Cinema and Popcorn
Sitting or lying down, are the two ways you can watch the films projected on the terrace of this hotel
Choose the day of the week, and with the day, the title of the film you want to watch, decide whether the vertical or horizontal position is more suitable for you, and open your mouth and eyes, as a screening with popcorn and something to drink begins. This experience awaits you from Wednesday to Sunday, between the 4th and 31st of August, at the Palace Hotel Barcelona.
Located on Gran Via, right in the heart of Barcelona, inaugurated in 1919, and considered one of the city's great hotel landmarks, the Palace Hotel is one of the oldest in the city. You've probably seen some of its lounges or perhaps stayed in one of its rooms. But have you ever seen the building's garden terrace?
They propose that if you love movies, you do this in the summer. You can choose the type of ticket: an individual lounger for €33, or a bench for two people for €56.
The ticket prices include the screening of a film in its original version with Spanish subtitles, which will change from Wednesday to Sunday. So, those who come on Wednesday can watch "Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" (UK; 2012), directed by John Madden; those who visit the hotel's terrace on Thursday can enjoy the classic by Blake Edwards starring Audrey Hepburn, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (USA; 1961. Look for the missing José Luis de Villalonga); and on Fridays, they will show the very musical "Mamma Mia," created by Phyllida Lloyd (UK; 2008).
The cinema party continues on weekends. On Saturday evening, they project "Parent Trap" (The Parent Trap), an American film from 1998 directed by Nancy Meyers. And on Sunday, it will be time to enjoy Daniel Craig as Agent 007 in "Casino Royale" (UK; 2006), a film by Martin Campbell.
Remember that when you sit or lie down, you will be well supplied with freshly made popcorn, an essential complement for an open-air movie session that the hotel will provide, along with a refreshing cocktail.
You can come with children if you wish, but remember that the choice of the film is your responsibility, and not all the films that are screened will be suitable for younger viewers.
