Ohlalà: the festival with the best French language films
The city will be buzzing with a certain je ne sais quoi thanks to this initiative by the French Institute.
Last year, the first edition of Ohlalà, Barcelona’s very own French-language film festival, met with considerable success, and this year’s edition looks set to be even better and more successful than ever. The festival will feature a total of 11 films from, among other countries, France, Canada and Tunisia, including an animated film and a documentary, most of which have never been seen in Catalonia, despite, in some cases having won a César Award. This year’s edition also features a retrospective on director, screenwriter and actress Agnès Jaoui, who can be considered to be the godmother of the festival and who will take part in discussions with other invited speakers. Among the films to be screened are 'En Liberté' by Pierre Salvadori, 'Les chatouilles' by Andréa Bescond and Eric Métayer, 'Pupille' by Jeanne Herry, and 'Un amour impossible' by Catherine Corsini.
Most of the screenings in the festival will take place at the French Institute of Barcelona, as well as at Texas cinemas and the Bande à Part film school, from 13 to 19 March.
Tickets for the screening cost from €3 to €8 and are available for purchase from the Ohlalà Festival website.
