Strengthening the cultural links between Latin America and Catalonia

The open platform LATIR aims to promote and strengthen cultural ties between Latin America and Catalonia, fostering dialogue and exchange for the benefit of a diverse, inclusive and participatory society. As a fundamental part of these objectives, this cultural week will take place from 17 to 22 July and will feature a careful selection of Latin American artists who will express through their works the spirit of an entire continent.

The event will begin at the CCCB with the opening of LATIR Semana Cultural Latinoamericana, where the programmes will be handed out and some works of art will be exhibited. The festival will feature various activities, including a debate forum, called a conversatorio, where renowned artists and experts from Latin America and Europe will discuss the need for platforms to promote cultural dissemination and circulation between Spain and Latin American countries.

There will also be concerts by leading artists such as Maravelí, Lejanías and En la selva, as well as photography exhibitions such as Extramuros and La escritura de las apariencias. The LATIR Music Festival, which will take place on 22 July at the Parc de l'Escorxador in Badalona, will bring this cultural week to a close. This event will feature more than 10 artists on stage and will be an opportunity to celebrate Latin American cultural diversity through music, art and gastronomy.
