An image of Budha at the Museum

Divine Asia

A visit organised by Casa Àsia reviews the belief systems of the continent from the collection of the Museum of Ethnology and Cultures of the World.

Buddha, Vixnu, Shiva... What do you know about Asian divinities or religious figures? It is an exciting subject that speaks very clearly about the life and cultures of that part of the planet. To get to know them in depth, there is nothing better than a visit to the Museum of Ethnology and World Cultures, with a rich collection of objects about which they will talk to you on this visit, organised by Casa Àsia Barcelona. You have a date on April 26th.

This is a collaboration between the Museum and Casa Àsia, an organisation dedicated to promoting knowledge and cultures of Asia and the Pacific, among other things. The Museum has a large collection of objects that come from Asia and that have to do with the belief systems of the people who live there. They will show them to you at this event, which is dedicated to The Great Religions of Asia.

During the visit, they will talk to you especially about Hinduism and Buddhism, which are the main religious systems of the continent and, thus, they will show you, for example, different representations of divinity in the Hindu pantheon, such as Vixnu, Shiva, Kal or Parvati. You will also see a multitude of representations of the Buddha figure from countries such as India, Tibet, Thailand and Burma.

You will learn about the beliefs, rituals, values and symbols that give concrete meaning to human life and connect humanity with what is sacred and transcendent, helping to pacify the sorrow of death.

If you want to take a walk through the spiritual world of the Asian continent, come to the Museum of Ethnology and World Cultures of the hand of Casa Àsia, but first check the website for information and buy your ticket.
