A moment from the performance with Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Queen of Hearts on stage

Alice in Wonderland,' according to La Trepa company

New performances of the musical show were created in 2009, which was a finalist in the Max Awards.

Didn’t bring the kids yet? Well, young viewers and adults alike are the target audience for an immortal story that, this time, is told with music and songs. The storyline, in the version by Alícia Serrat and Macià G. Olivella, returns to Jove Teatre Regina from the 23rd of September to the 1st of November.

La Trepa, the play's creator is the resident company at Jove Teatre Regina. In addition to the authors of this version, the team includes director Maria Agustina Solé, composer Ferran González (creator of the original music), and actors and actresses Mariona Campos, Olga Fañanàs, Esther Pérez Ferrer, and Marc Miramunt, among others.

They will portray the Lidell sisters, Edith, Lorina, and Alice, who one day, while bored, receive a visit from Mr. Lewis Carroll.

Alice, particularly astute, asks the visitor to invent a story for her. It's the tale of Alice's creation in Wonderland, one of the most popular kid's stories (or perhaps not so much) in the world.

It all begins when the main character, Alice, sees a rabbit with a hat looking at his watch with concern. Why is a rabbit so busy? Where is it going? Alice wonders, and she follows the rabbit inside a tree's burrow. But upon entering, she finds herself transported to a different and eccentric world. Disappearing cats, mad hatters, and watchmakers who dip their watches in chocolate are part of a nonsensical story in which a queen of hearts, though from a deck of cards, appears to be quite a dangerous character…

The story of Mr. Carroll and Alice is, in fact, real. On the same day he invented the story for his friend, Lewis Carroll wrote it down. He added illustrations he had made himself, and he gave the book to the girl that Christmas. Neither she nor Carroll could have imagined that this story would become one of the most popular in the Western world in the centuries to come.

If you want to hear the nonsensical story of Alice in Wonderland with music and songs, come to Jove Teatre Regina, but first, check their website for all the information about the production.
