Sopa de Pedra is a musical research group formed by a group of ten women with percussion accompaniment, who through a magical interpretation of traditional Portuguese music explore the richness of traditional legacy, linking it with the world music of today.

That bond has been formed through the music that's been passed down from generation to generation in Portugal by oral tradition, from the songs of the Mirandesas de Trás-os-Montes to the ballads of the Azores.

Their repertoire at the concert for La Mercè will also include pieces by artists such as Zeca Afonso, Amélia Muge, GAC, and many others who've left their mark on the traditional Portuguese music that Sopa de Pedra want to take with them all over the world.

Concert organised for La Mercè in collaboration with the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic.
