13/11/2024 - 12:00 h
Dau festival celebrates a new edition from 15 to 17 November at Fabra i Coats betting on the professional sector and role-playing games.
A host of international experts in role-playing, and all kind of board games will be in Barcelona from 15 to 17 November, when a new edition, the thirteenth, of the Dau festival will be held at Fabra i Coats, an event dedicated to board games which, in this edition, is committed to both role-playing games and the professional world, creating a congress with international experts.
Dau, and it’s trajectory, is a reference in the sector. And it continues to evolve, so that this edition opens a new stage. A collaboration agreement between the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) and Kid’s Cluster, which specialises in educational and recreational projects, will make it possible to introduce major new features and, at the same time, to commit to the professionalisation of the sector. These changes will consolidate the festival as a reference in the world of games.
During the whole weekend, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., the public will find a programme that includes game demonstrations, tournaments, workshops and family activities. This year’s edition, as you can see, also facilitates the meeting between professionals and game enthusiasts. If you want to meet the people who create these little wonders that keep you entertained for hours or days, don’t miss the chance to come.
Among the novelties this year, a professional congress that brings together international experts in the design and creation of games on the 15th, but also a renewed, more dynamic and entertaining Awards Gala, where the winners of this year’s edition will be announced, an educational day (15th) aimed at promoting the pedagogical values of the games and, finally, a food truck area that will allow the public to spend the whole day at Fabra i Coats without having to leave for lunch.
In addition to the aforementioned novelties, you will find the usual sections of Dau: Gran Dau space, where you will find the latest news and classic games; Dau de Nit, during which you can bring your games and play until you fall asleep; Dauet for the youngest children and Dau Expert for veterans. You will also find spaces dedicated to traditional games and others that invite you to enjoy history games or role-playing games, one of the stars of this year’s edition. There will be Giant games, but also circuits around the area designed to be played on a wheelchair are part of the programme.
