Creativity and young talent, in the Yamaha workshop for Llum BCN
25/10/2024 - 12:00 h
A new edition of a training proposal and a competition aimed at students from the schools taking part in the Barcelona festival.
Over a hundred students from design, art and architecture schools will take part in a workshop organised by the firm on 29 October at the DHub facilities in Plaça de les Glòries. With what they learn there, they will make their proposal for the Yamaha Light Meeting Point that will form part of the Llum BCN 2025 festival.
The initiative will test the skills of future creators, who will receive training in the conception and construction of ephemeral structures in public spaces. Once they have learned the principles behind these creations, they will be able to apply them to a lighting project that will be on display in the space that the sponsoring company will provide in Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes.
The workshop is part of the preparations for the installations that we will be able to see at the Llum BCN 25 festival, in which, as happens in many European cities, a part of Barcelona becomes some sort of giant art gallery in which we will be able to see surprising installations that have light as their primary material and that have been created specifically for those spaces.
Technology is a fundamental element in the proposals of Llum BCN, but so is art. The boys and girls invited to the workshop will be able to prove it by showing their talent and the new ideas they treasure. Pay attention if you don’t miss any of the editions of the festival, because this workshop already announces the future activities of the festival.
As soon as the boys and girls from Barcelona’s schools, already trained in the creation of ephemeral structures, present their projects in groups of a maximum of five people, a competition of ideas will be opened. All of them will have to incorporate an electric motorbike of the brand, as well as a unit of a new model of electric bicycle. The winner will see their project come to fruition at the festival. Who is in charge of choosing the best project? Well, a jury made up of Yamaha, the sponsoring company, and representatives of the ICUB and the artistic direction of Llum BCN.
This is a firm commitment by Llum BCN festival and Yamaha to the city’s young creators and creators, who will not only have their first professional experience in this competition, which they can include on their CVs, but will also receive a Yamaha experience gift. The present will be given to the winning group during the final event of the Llum BCN 25 Young Creative Talent Festival.
